Clinical trials bring new treatment options to patients
Clinical trials have had a significant and lasting impact on the people of Saskatchewan by improving access to cutting-edge treatments, strengthening health care partnerships, and fostering a culture of research excellence within the province.
As the only unit of its kind in Saskatchewan, the Clinical Trial Support Unit (CTSU) serves as a gateway for both local and national studies, ensuring that residents can participate in research that might otherwise only be available in larger centres. Since 2024, the CTSU has supported more than 100 active trials at any given time, and 118 completed trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas. These studies bring new treatment options to patients while contributing to the evidence base that shapes clinical practice.
