Banners represent USask’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation
In September 2021, USask installed 14 orange banners in the Bowl—the heart of the Saskatoon campus—to bring a physical presence to the Calls to Action detailed by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
In 2022, an additional 13 banners were added, this time in purple, to bring attention to the Calls for Justice outlined in the final report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. The banners are a permanent fixture on campus, and all students, staff, faculty, alumni, and members of the public are invited and encouraged to walk through the Bowl and take time to read, learn, and reflect.
